MSEI has available for purchase or lease a three dimensional free surface hydrodynamics code, providing extended functionality in comparison to programs such as WAMIT, AQWA, and MORA. The code is available as Matlab source code or free standing executable, and enables the user to vary: the number and location of control points used in forming the body boundary condition; the gaussian integration scheme used for pressure integration; and the Green's function evaluation method, including direct numerical integration to arbitrary precision. Multiple independently moving bodies are supported, and all of the standard results are provided: added mass and damping coefficients; exciting forces from the Haskind relations or direct evaluation of the diffraction potential; response amplitude operators; and time averaged drift forces (by momentum conservation for single bodies and pressure integration for multiple bodies). In addition, the formulation of the program allows the use of translating Green's functions for the prediction of first and second order wake characteristics and motions of bodies with forward speed or in the presence of current.

The code was developed to solve unique problems of interest to MSEI customers, and is primarily targeted to experienced hydrodynamicists, familiar with the underlying physics, who desire the ability to modify code to suit their unique needs, or need features not present in other packages. That said, the code itself is no more difficult to use than, for example, WAMIT. Furthermore, the Matlab format allows a user to easily customize or extend the program. Such extensions might include statistical postprocessing or transformation back into the time domain to allow simulation using convolution integrals.

The code has currently been subject to internal validation. MSEI can arrange to provide the results of validation tests to prospective purchasers.

The software is sold under permanent license at a competitive rate, and includes lifetime support for all features purchased. For a price quote, please phone 310-940-6590 or email info@mechanicalsystemsengineers.com.
